Tennessee heritage, county by county.

I'm Cody Boring. I run Rocky Mount State Historic Site, a state-owned National Historic Landmark under the Tennessee Historical Commission. This site shows the work I've been doing to think about heritage at the county level across Tennessee, and what that work could mean for the Commission.

For reviewers

Start here.

If you have five minutes, review these in order. They show the work, the plan, and the fit for the Commission.

  1. Live work first

Step 1: Open the working Heritage OS demo.

See the statewide county map, Sullivan County proof, and public service model running now, not described in theory.

    Open the live system
  2. Decision package

Step 2: Read the operating blueprint.

The blueprint connects the concept to statutory mandate, governance, rollout, technical architecture, and measurable public value.

    Read the blueprint
  3. Fit and trust

Step 3: Verify the leadership background.

The resume and references show site operations, board governance, capital work, teaching, systems design, and statewide relationships.

The proof

Work already running.

These are real projects, built and running. They started from a question worth answering: what would it look like if every county in Tennessee could see its heritage in one place, and if the Commission were the institution that made it possible?

Working system

A statewide heritage platform

Every County Has a Story.

95 counties on one map. County profiles with verified heritage stories. Story trails that connect sites across regions. A preservation help pathway that routes people to the right Commission program. A submit-to-review pipeline. An editorial layer that tracks when facts were last verified. Working software, not a slide deck.

A vision for the Commission

The master blueprint maps Heritage OS to the Commission's statutory mandate, current programs, partner model, technical architecture, 90-day demonstration, roadmap, and measures. It preserves existing systems of record, keeps professional authority with staff and boards, and uses 95 to 1 as the first public proof campaign.
